J-ENG held 2nd “UMIGOMI ZERO WEEK” Volunteer Cleanup Activity

J-ENG is joining the “Umigomi Zero Week 2020”(Zero Marine Debris Week 2020”) campaign, which is being co-promoted by Nippon Foundation and Ministry of the Environment to reduce marine debris, as a member of Japan Marine Manufacturers Association.
This year, “Umigomi Zero Week in Autumn” is being held from 12th to 19th September coordinating with World Cleanup Day*, J-ENG carried out a volunteer beach cleaning in a nearby beach on 16th September.

40 management personnel and employees picked up and collected 54 garbage bags of plastic refuse like styrofoam containers, plastic bags and others at Nishioka Seaside Park for about 2 hours.

J-ENG will continue to join marine litter cleaning activities to achieve marine debris reduction as one of our SDGs’ targets, and contribute to the development of a sustainable society.

*World Cleanup Day: A worldwide event day to do volunteer cleaning up. In 2020, 19th September is set.
