J-ENG to Exhibit at SMM 2026

Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) will exhibit at SMM 2026, the international maritime exhibition to be held in Hamburg, Germany, from September 1st to 4th, 2026.

Decarbonization in international shipping is steadily moving into the implementation phase, and as a “First Mover” toward carbon neutrality by 2050, J-ENG is accelerating the commercialization of next-generation fueled engines. In August 2025, J-ENG completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Type Approval Test (TAT) for the world’s first ammonia-fueled engine, the “7UEC50LSJA-HPSCR.”
J-ENG is currently conducting verification testing of the “6UEC35LSGH”, the world’s first commercial full-scale hydrogen-fueled engine, which was successfully commissioned in March 2026.

Following the completion of the first ammonia-fueled engine, development of the series model “UEC60LSJA” is underway, with completion targeted for the fiscal year 2028 (FY2028). In parallel, by transferring technologies developed for ammonia-fueled engines, J-ENG is
fast-tracking the development of the methanol-fueled engine “UEC50LSJM”, with completion targeted for FY2027.

At SMM 2026, J-ENG will present its product strategy for compatibility with multiple fuels, the development status and technical features of each engine, and its global licensing initiatives.

J-ENG will be exhibiting in the Japan Pavilion, Hall B7, Booth No. 450.
The J-ENG team looks forward to welcoming you at our stand.
